Sadly none of our wonderful planned festivals, events, concerts and face-to-face music teaching can take place over the next few months, but we are still very much open for business and our teams in all three areas of work; festivals, arts and music are busy putting together resources, activities and teaching online as well as continuing to plan for the end of lockdown and how to work with our audiences and colleagues to bring culture and creativity back to life in our county.   

Despite the challenging circumstances our mission is to stick to our core business and continue to focus on and champion the many benefits of taking part in music and the arts. We are signposting parents/carers and schools to the vast array of online learning resources and encouraging children and young people to take up some of the creative challenges and share the results with us. For our current music pupils/students we are trialling online digital teaching initially until May half-term to keep students motivated and progressing with their music learning at this time.   

In April we launched two small grants schemes for Worcestershire artists and musicians; #Creative Connections and #KeepMaking Music encouraging them to create something inspiring in response to the current situation which can be shared digitally.  

Our Malvern Gate office is closed until further notice but our team are all working from home. Everyone can be contacted by email or by mobile phones. We are enormously proud of our team and how we are all working to ensure the continuation of Severn Arts’ work and mission to engage people with arts and music.  

Our absolute number one priority is to keep our staff, pupils and the community we serve safe and well. And to continue to promote the benefits creativity brings.
