Worcestershire's Annual Festival of Arts and Music for Children and Young People

Voices and Visions, now in its 18th year, celebrates the artistic talent of the young people of Worcestershire with a series of concerts, exhibitions, projects and performances encompassing dance, music, poetry, drawing and painting, sculpture, and a wide range of crafts. A collaboration between Severn Arts, the County Arts Team and a range of artists and organisations, Voices and Visions grows year on year, with 2017 promising to be one of the best ever!

Middle School Poetry Slam

What: Led by Worcestershire’s favourite roving poet, Spoz, the best spoken word artists from middle schools across the county will do verbal battle

Worcestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra Concert

What: This concert with WYJO and WYJO2 features special guests Georgina Jackson (trumpet/vocals) and Pete Long (saxophone)

Voices and Visions Cathedral Exhibition

What: Now in its 18th year, this exhibition shows the best visual arts across Worcestershire schools. Spot the Banksies of the future.

Severn Arts Festival of Music

What: A musical extravaganza featuring orchestras and bands from Severn Arts

The Big Sing Worcestershire

What: Workshops with international singing leader, Ula Weber. 2,600 primary school children will work together and perform “Songs from the Musicals”

Voices and Visions at the Hive

What: The Hive is the place to be for the first Voices and Visions multi-arts performance of 2017.

Voices and Visions at the Cathedral

What: Two performance events featuring drama, music and dance to celebrate the work of the schools in the county.

Voices and Visions – 1000 Years of Song

What: Following the very successful BBC’s 10 pieces project, we have chosen our own 10 most influential British songs which will be interpreted and performed in a variety of artforms by Worcestershire pupils.

First Access Music Education Festival

What: Two workshops featuring performances by pupils from schools that have taken part in the First Access Music Education Project.

Dancefest’s Big Dance Fortnight

From 8th-23rd July, Dancefest will be organising a series of dance events throughout Worcestershire, starting with a Big Dance Picnic in Worcester’s Cripplegate Park on 8th July and culminating in performances at Croome Court on 23rd July. For more information, see the Dancefest website.
