As part of the It Gets Lighter From Here campaign being led by Culture Central, Severn Arts and Worcestershire County Council is inviting artists from across Worcestershire to submit a proposal for a 60-second digital commission focused on moments of happiness and hope.

Eight commissions will be awarded and showcased online on 21 December: the shortest day of the year, alongside the work of artists and cultural institutions from across the West Midlands, providing hundreds of moments of happiness and hope during these uncertain times.

Selected proposals will be awarded £250.

Criteria
  • Artists can be working across any art form, and may be at any point in their artistic career; from the most internationally renowned to the most recently emerged
  • Artists must be able to outline their connection to Worcestershire in their application
  • Commissions will creatively explore the themes of happiness and hope
  • Applications must be for new work not already in the public domain

Please note: where applicable the digital work produced is required to be subtitled. Severn Arts will provide help to do this if needed.

The deadline for this commission has now closed.

Proposal Submission Form

Applicants will be informed by Friday 27 November if they have been successful. Final pieces need to be sent to Severn Arts by 14 December 2020.
