Severn Arts is working with The Children’s Society to bring arts activities to a programme they run called CLIMB.

CLIMB aims to use positive activities to prevent young people from becoming involved in criminal activity: https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/climb. It is funded by West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion.

Earlier this year we piloted joint working in two Alternative Provision schools and with two online arts groups with clients of the CLIMB programme. The evaluation was very positive.

The Children’s Society now wish to deliver a summer programme of activity for young people on the CLIMB programme.  As part of this, Severn Arts is offering three artistic commissions, funded by The Children’s Society, and would like to invite artists to apply.

  • Visual artist at Pershore Library - a visual artist is sought who can deliver 4 weekly sessions of arts activity to up to 8 young people with 3 of their project workers in attendance. This opportunity has now closed.

  • Graffiti artist in different locations across West Mercia - a graffiti artist is sought who can work with temporary, removable graffiti to deliver 3 separate sessions. This opportunity has now closed.

  • Evaluation filmmaker - a filmmaker is sought who can create a short film about the impact of the removable graffiti workshops. This opportunity has now closed.
