A Little About Our Guests

After acquiring a strange and unfashionable obsession with Jazz and Big Band music at an early age (and in Wigan!), Georgina Jackson began her musical career working as a professional trumpet player working with many famous faces and Big Bands in Concert Halls, television and radio. Harbouring a desire to wear a posh frock rather than the same as ‘the lads’ in the band, Georgina decided to make a dash for the front mike! Georgina has since appeared with the BBC Big Band, BBC Concert Orchestra, recorded two CDs and is the resident singer with the Ronnie Scotts Jazz Orchestra. Last year, Georgina was one of the Headline performers at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Hollywood, co-hosting the opening concert with Arturo Sandoval.

The multi-talented Jackson has a vocal presence that is satin, tonally splendid and finger beckoningly seductive…she instinctively demos how to rhythmically milk the best and most meaningful out of both lyric and melody  – Jazz Times

Georgina is really very good indeed, a talent definitely worth supporting…top form –  Sir Michael Parkinson

That was amazing….The real deal….I never thought I’d fall in love with a girl from Wigan, but tonight I did –  Sir Bruce Forsyth

Pete Long has worked with a diversity of artists including: Jamie Cullum, Sir Elton John, Lionel Richie, Stereophonics, Sir Tom Jones, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, Georgie Fame, Sting, Jools Holland, Sir Paul McCartney, Ray Davis, Sir John Dankworth, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Dionne Warwick, Jane MacDonald, Chick Chorea, John Scofield and Dizzy Gillespie to name a few! Pete is currently musical director of the world famous Ronnie Scott’s Big Band.

…he’s a national treasure –  Clive Davis, The Times
