About the Digital Support Assistant role 

Severn Arts is looking for an organised, enthusiastic individual to provide digital support to the marketing and communications team, helping to build our audiences across our key social media channels by creating varied and engaging content.  

What is the role? 
  • Being part of the communications and marketing team that create content, promote our work and highlight our successes 
  • Scheduling content across Severn Arts’ social media channels 
  • Ensuring technology and social media is used to the full
  • Talking to people through social media and other means to engage them with our work and offer
  • Assessing and measuring our achievements
  • Being tuned into new digital and social media trends and using these to widen our reach
  • Having your finger on the pulse of topics in the news which we could talk about on our social media channels, e.g., issues affecting young people, the music industry or creative industries  
Who are we looking for? 

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dedicated, dynamic and who wants to learn and has the following experience, knowledge and skills to offer:  

  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms – the main ones we use are Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn  
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive  
  • Knowledge and experience of basic video and photo editing for use on social media  
  • Some experience of using a scheduling tool and content management system  
  • Know how to write to attract young people and people who don’t know about us yet! 
  • Creative flair and enthusiasm for digital media and innovation  
  • Passionate and savvy about brands and trends 
  • Creative and excited about creative opportunity 
What else do I need to know? 
  • The pay is National Minimum Wage (for age) 
  • The role will be 25 hours per week 
  • The role is a 6-month placement

About Kickstart 
  • To be eligible for a Kickstart placement you must be receiving Universal Credit and must be aged between 16 and 24  
  • Kickstart placements are available to help you grow your confidence in the workplace, alongside giving you invaluable experience to support your career plans 
  • As part of your six-month Kickstart placement, you will also receive wraparound support to ensure you develop key employability skills whilst gaining vital experience in the workplace
