CPD session for teachers with Simon Toyne, member of the Government’s Expert Panel for developing the Model Music Curriculum

Join this session online to hear Simon Toyne talking about the purpose of music in schools and how now is an exciting opportunity to restore and reinvigorate our children's musical education and experience. 

Simon’s session will be followed by a breakout group discussion. Participants can choose from:

  • KS1/2 discussion focusing on the practical support the Music Hub can give schools. This discussion will be led by Julie Sutton, Primary Lead for School-Based Provision and Senior Lecturer in Primary Education, University of Worcester. 
  • KS3 upwards discussion focusing on the practical support the Music Hub can give schools. This discussion will be led by Mark Aitchison, Head of Music, Droitwich Spa High School.

Debbie Fawcett, Director of Learning at Severn Arts will then highlight the role Severn Arts can play in supporting schools to give the best possible music education in their settings. Severn Arts is the lead for Worcestershire’s Music Education Hub (WMEH).
