Severn Arts in partnership with University of Worcester and Rivers Teaching Alliance are providing a programme of practical workshops to support schools in the delivery of the Model Music Curriculum.

The cost of each workshop is £15.00 per person. Places are limited so we do suggest booking as soon as possible. 

Pitch Notation

Thursday 27 January, 4.15 – 5.45pm

Following on from our first session looking at ways into reading standard notation, this second session will focus on how to develop pitch notation in the classroom. There will be practical examples to use in the classroom alongside a focus on simple songs related to developing pitch notation. This session is aimed at both KS1 and KS2 class teachers. 

This workshop is taking place at Rivers Teaching Alliance (based at St Clement’s CofE Primary School), Henwick Road, Worcester, WR2 5NS. Turn right as you enter the car park and the teaching alliance is up the steps.

The Music ‘Deep Dive’ 

Please note the workshop on Thursday 17 March, 4.15 – 5.45pm is now FULL. The same workshop will take place on the following date and time:

With the Ofsted focus on ‘deep dives’, we will unpick together what a deep dive might look like in music education, the questions we might be asked, how to provide relevant evidence and the importance of sequences of learning, progression and assessment. Examples from other providers will be shared together with information from recent webinars led by Mark Philips, Senior HMI and National Lead for Music at Ofsted. 

This workshop is taking place at North Worcester Primary Academy, John Comyn Drive, Worcester, WR3 7NS.
