A new guitar group is being set up by Severn Arts in Malvern to start in January 2020.

Severn Arts music teacher Mike Halliday will be running the new group on Mondays from 5 – 6pm at the Severn Arts Music Centre based at The Grove Primary School in Malvern. The group is open to all young guitar players from 7 – 12 years and from beginners through to grade 3 players.

Ian Hattersley, Severn Arts Deputy Director of Learning said: “It’s really exciting to be setting up this new group for young guitar players as nothing like this currently exists in the area. Playing in a group really helps musicians improve and also comes with the added benefits of opportunities to perform and making new friends.”

Mike Halliday, Severn Arts Music Teacher said: “ In my experience of teaching the guitar I have found that pupils really enjoy and rise to the challenge of playing together. They also gain a great deal from playing to a friendly audience.”

Anyone interested in joining the group please complete our application form.  Severn Arts also runs a number of concert bands and string groups in their music centres which are in Bromsgrove, Malvern, Kidderminster and Worcester. All of the groups are free to attend for the first term after which a membership fee is charged. If you need any further information, please contact [email protected]

The new guitar group will start on Monday 13 January, 2020.
