AC Academy Bromsgrove

An exciting new opportunity from our Hub partners at Armonico Consort

By: Andrew Bright | Featured Schools, HUB, HUB Partners, Singing | January 4, 2017

Does your child like to sing?

I am writing to let you know about two exciting NEW after-school choirs (for ages 7 – 16) which will take place every Tuesday at South Bromsgrove High. The choir leader will be Piers Maxim, Director of Music at Great Malvern Priory, Conductor of Elgar Chorale, Musical Director of Epsom Chamber Choir and Conductor of EC4 Orchestra, based in London.

Senior pupils (Y7 upwards) will rehearse from 4pm until 4.55pm.
Junior pupils (Years 3-6) will rehearse from 5pm until 5.55pm

AC Academy is Armonico Consort’s music education programme which reaches 15,000 children every year offering life-changing experiences through participatory music projects. We are working closely with Severn Arts to run this after-school choir, and there is no audition – anyone who enjoys singing can come along and join in!

Our first performance will be Carmina Burana at Malvern Theatres on Wednesday 22nd March, with a choir of 250 children plus a professional choir and orchestra. It promises to be a very exciting event! We are also planning concerts at the RSC in Stratford, and at the Royal Albert Hall in London plus more local concerts, so there will be some great performance opportunities!

If your child would like to attend AC Academy Bromsgrove, just come along on a Tuesday evening from 17th January and complete a parental consent / contact form before leaving your child at the session. Feel free to contact me if you have any queries!
