Music Makers of the Future (MMF) project took place between January 2022 - July 2022. West Midlands Music, a collective of 14 regional music services, commissioned researchers Emma Nenadic and Nikki Booth to:  

• Map current youth voice approaches and perspectives across the West Midlands 
• Identify barriers and enablers to music education workforce development
• Test a range of youth voice and youth-led approaches
• Consult with groups of young people on the role music plays in their lives

The case studies and toolkit that you can download below grew out of West Midlands Music's interest in increasing engagement with 11 - 18 and 19 - 24 year-olds, and enabling opportunities for youth leadership and input on programming and provision.
