Baker & Bliss’ Glowing and Growing was a highly successful, site-responsive, glow-in-the-dark, participatory installation, commissioned by Severn Arts for Worcester’s Light Night, February 9th – 15th 2024. It was conceived and facilitated by artists Lou Baker and Oly Bliss. Read more
Pitch Up is fast-paced programme for college students to experience the artistic commissioning process. In just two weeks, participants learn how to respond to a brief, pitch their ideas and co-create an artwork for a public exhibition. This year’s Project Assistant intern was Alex Clark-Michalek. We're thrilled to share that Severn Arts, in collaboration with Reimagine Redditch, has secured a grant from the Inclusive Communities Fund—a £9 million initiative inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. This marks the beginning of a partnership project aimed at bringing positive change to the Woodrow area. Read more
Dancefit was set up by Beth Andrews and Laura Bonell, providing a fun and friendly dance class for over 50s. They have seen the impact it can have, not only on people’s physical health and mobility, but also on their mental health and wellbeing. Read more
Jack’s Place is a community-based day centre for, older adults, adults with disabilities and adults with mental health issues. They are situated out on a rural location on a working farm in Berrow, near Malvern. Read more
Founded in 2016, Mental Health Mates is a nationwide network of volunteer led, peer support groups that encourage people to get moving and talking about their mental health. Read more
Perfect Circle Youth Theatre was established in 2006, in response to a number of young people who wanted to create a company to work on contemporary plays, devised performances, and youth led drama projects. Read more
The purpose of toddler tales is to widen opportunities for developing early literacy and social skills in the community, set up to reach the preschool demographic. The free group sessions are held at Malvern Cube and aim to help encourage young children to develop social and learning skills. Read more
The Young Poet Laureate Competition has been running for over 10 years. For the past five years it has been managed by Severn Arts in partnership with Worcestershire County Council. It is an opportunity to showcase talented young people aged 11- 18 years old, boost confidence and self-esteem and develop writing skills. Read more
