Severn Arts have become the proud owners of a National Arts Fundraising School Emcee award for their first ever crowdfunding campaign.

The campaign, which was raising money for a Travelling Music Box to tour around Worcestershire was judged the Best Digital / Online Fundraising Campaign 2020 at the fundraising awards ceremony held earlier this week.

The campaigns crowdfunding target of £18,242 was successfully reached by Severn Arts within four months.

Severn Arts marketing and communications manager Min Sowden said: “We ran a multi-faceted campaign with using animation and focused online with messages tailored to different audiences. The campaign was a big team effort with everyone in Severn Arts playing a part.

Severn Arts fundraiser Debbie Birch added“We are so thrilled with our award and delighted with the judges comments about our use of decision science methods. It was our first crowdfunding campaign so we had a lot to learn. We are also very thankful to Spacehive for getting us set up and providing excellent support throughout, Mike Jackson for his brilliant animation, everyone who got behind the project and pledged money and the Arts Council for match funding.

Since fundraising Severn Arts have secured a van and are now making plans for its conversion with the aim of getting it on the road in the Spring of 2021.
