The Orchards School in Bromsgrove has been incredibly grateful to The David Morgan Trust and Severn Arts for their work with the children this year (2021-2022).

This year, 45 children have benefitted from whole class lessons, with 17 children participating in small group sessions, 12 attending the Lift Off music club and 1 having individual lessons.

Our children looked forward to their sessions each week, having opportunities to learn new songs, musical notation, composition, and performance skills. The children enjoyed being able to play as a large group, in smaller ‘break out’ groups and as soloists to their class.

From the class lessons, it has been lovely to see so many children engage with the clarinet further and take their instrument home to practice.

The children grew in confidence over the weeks and enjoyed performing to others.

Over the year, we have held 3 mini concerts to parents in school, been involved in the Severn Arts performance at the Bromsgrove Baptist Church and been able to invite parents in to watch the Lift Off club.

It has been an excellent opportunity for the children to try something new and express themselves in different ways. We are thoroughly looking forward to continuing our work with Severn Arts and The David Morgan Trust, enabling The Orchards School to become a musical hive of activity, encouraging, and supporting all of our students.
