“The River Severn runs right the way from North to South Worcestershire, joining the village of Upper Arley with the town of Tewkesbury. As a walking artist I decided to take this journey by foot and create a video in response to this journey.”

Daniella's proposal

A hand drawn animation of a walk along the River Severn. The animation comprises of sixty hand drawn frames which are created from photographs taken on my 35mm film camera.

About the artist

Daniella is an artist-walker based in the West Midlands. Daniella gained a Masters in Fine Art Practice from The Glasgow School of Art. Her  specialist field is in drawing. Since leaving education Daniella spent several months living in Cumbria, and it was during this time that I took up long distance walking (there were only ten buses a week from my village!). Since returning to the West Midlands I have been on a mission to walk every square of the Ordnance Survey Maps of the UK.
