Music Centre groups

Our free Music Centre groups are open to all competent beginners through to individuals playing up to grade 3 level, aged 7 and upwards. Rehearsals are delivered by Severn Arts conductors/tutors who are enhanced DBS checked and receive regular safeguarding training.

Being part of a music group is a great way to improve your playing. Practise your instrument in a fun and friendly environment, learn new songs and build confidence whilst becoming part of a community!

Lift Off!

Lift Off! gives young musicians the chance to explore making music together in a relaxed and supportive setting. Open to any instrument, the sessions are informal and, most importantly, fun! Perfect for beginners who can play a few notes up to around Grade 1 standard, Lift Off! is a great way to build confidence, make friends, and enjoy music-making.

String Stars! (formerly String Orchestra)

Do you play the Violin, Viola, Cello or Double Bass? Then this group is for you! We welcome players who are approximately grade 1-3 standard. Piano players may also be welcome based on availability.

Blast Off! (formerly Concert Band)

Blast Off! welcomes all wind, brass and percussion instruments. Players should be approximately grade 1-3 standard.

Can I join if I don’t own an instrument?

You need an instrument to take part in our Music Centre groups but if you do not have your own, take a look at Severn Arts instrument hire - where instruments can be hired out on a termly basis.

Alternatively, percussion instruments and piano/keyboard may be available at the group you choose. Please contact India on [email protected] to check on availability before signing up.
