Spring's Calling

#SpringsCalling was an online event celebrating the Spring Equinox, new beginnings and hope on 20 June 2021, a year after direct access to audiences was disrupted.

#SpringsCalling, led by the West Midlands Culture Response Unit (WMCRU) featured 3-5 minute-long audio based artworks of spoken word, podcasts, music and singing from artists across the region. Coinciding with the Spring Equinox, the event focused on nature, spring, outdoors, reflection, restarting and growth; as the cultural sector started to look ahead to returning to live events, re-opening venues and welcoming back audiences.

Work featured here was commissioned by Severn Arts and Worcestershire County Council working in partnership with Autin Dance Theatre.  Contributions from across the region can be seen on Culture Central's website.
