Severn Arts is keen to support young people into employment, which ever route they take.  We offer a range of opportunities which can help in making the right career choices. For information about possible careers within music education and the music industry see pathways into music careers this page also has useful inks to other creative careers websites.

Work experience

If you’re interested in finding out about a career in the arts, then we welcome young people in school on work experience.  Spend a week with the different departments in Severn Arts to help you decide what’s right for you.  We have a limited number of placements available each year, so if you are interested in applying, please contact j.wi[email protected]

Apprenticeships

We recognise that going to university isn’t the route for everyone. We’re proud at Severn Arts to have employed an apprentice in events management.  Apprenticeships are a great way of learning whilst actually doing the job.  We worked with Heart of Worcestershire College who provide classroom-based training for apprentices. There are no current vacancies but we hope to reinstate an apprenticeship opportunity soon.

Internships

We know how difficult it is for young people to bridge the gap between university and their first job which is why we are dedicated to creating intern roles across our events. One of these continuing roles is Assistant Producer which came from the Arches Festivals but has continued as Severn Arts took over Light Night Worcester 2024.
